Notes from the Cyclades

My Greece is small islands

My Greece is a balcony and seagulls in the morning

My Greece is drawing white houses

My Greece is air smelling like the sea

My Greece is no car, maybe a bike

My Greece is walking the dry yellow fields

My Greece is sea glittering and people watching on the beach

My Greece is holding hands

My Greece is hiking to monasteries on top oh hills

My Greece is tan lines and crosswords

My Greece is never drying swimsuits

My Greece is the small island grocery store and bakery

My Greece is olive oil and bread

My Greece is eating dinner on the dock where the fish was caught one hour before

My Greece is imperfectly perfect ceramics all around

My Greece is drinking white wine from the short glasses

My Greece is cats eating dinner too

My Greece is yogurt and honey for desert

My Greece is the never ending sea
